Kirsten

Soprano

Kirsten couldn’t be happier to be a member of Vox Pop since 2010. Few things in life bring her more joy than singing with the talented musicians in this group or bring her more laughs than spending time with this cast of crazy characters. Vox Pop has been Kirsten’s second family for over a decade, and she looks forward to making music together for years to come.

Kirsten is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she was a member of the university’s all-women’s a cappella group: the Treblemakers. She also served as the group’s music director for several semesters and developed a reputation for being the most likely to pull an all-nighter to arrange a song just for fun and to have a pitch pipe in her possession at all times.

Kirsten teaches high school math at Severn School in Severna Park, MD. And since singing a cappella herself just wasn’t enough, she has worked with high school a cappella groups throughout her teaching career. She founded an all-female group called Nothing But Treble at St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, MD, and was proud to have several of their recorded tracks featured on BOHSA compilations. Kirsten now co-directs Severn School’s a cappella group Breakwater, which has recently been selected for BOHSA 2024, earned several CARA nominations, and won the high school competition at SingStrong NY in 2023.

Aside from singing and teaching, Kirsten is a fan of smart TV shows, good coffee, and dogs. She lives in Howard County, MD with her husband, two young kids, and two Golden Retrievers.
